La Châtaigne Gites
A Charentais French farmhouse and three cottages to rent, with heated pool, in a private enclosed plot of ¾ acre.
At Châtaigne House and gîtes we can accommodate groups of various sizes. Châtaigne House has three bedrooms and sleeps 9, whilst La Rose, and La Lavande all have one twin bedroom and one double bedroom, sleeping 4. Le Tournesol has a double bedroom and a triple room with three single beds.
We can also provide travel cots free of charge.
All family-friendly properties have fully equipped kitchens with access to freezer and laundry facilities. Stair gates, high chairs and booster seats are available on request. The whole site is enclosed and set well back from the rural road. The recreation and pool areas are also separately gated for the security of all visitors.
Bikes can be hired through a third party (see link above) for you to explore the area on two wheels if you wish, and there is plenty to entertain the whole family on site.
Getting Here
The nearest airport is Poitiers (about 1 hour) with flights by Ryanair, La Rochelle & Limoges Airports are also nearby (under 2 hours) served by various carriers. Slightly further away, at just over two hours, is Bordeaux Airport. The nearest ferry port is St Malo, approx. 4 hours with the Eurotunnel at around 7 hours. We have an Emovis (formerly Sanef) tag which means you don't have to stop and pay on the 'peages', most have a 30km/hr lane which detects the tag without stopping.
